Fishing Swan Lake

Dave Weitzel, Area Fisheries Manager from the DNR has been a great partner to the Swan Lake Assocition, Dave has educated us about how the DNR manages Swan Lake for anglers. Below you will find:

Here is a portion of what you need to know (be sure to check the regulations directly): 

Special Fishing Regulations: This lake has special fishing regulations that differ from statewide or border water regulations for those species identified below and take precedence. Regulations listed below are currently in place. Visit the fishing regulations page for links to upcoming regulations for specific lakes.https://www.dnr.state.mn.us/regulations/fishing/index.html

Connected streams including Swan River downstream to dam, Hart O'Brien, and Hay Creeks upstream to County Road 12, and Snowball, Ox, Hide, and Pickerel Creeks upstream to Highway 169.

Walleye: All from 20-24" must be immediately released. One over 24" allowed in possession.
